A Walk at Fort Cornwallis

Fort Cornwallis is an old star-shaped fort located on the northeastern coast of Penang, Malaysia. It is named after the late 18th century Governor-General of Bengal, India, Charles Cornwallis, 1st Marquess Cornwallis. Fort Cornwallis is the largest standing fort in Malaysia (from Wikipedia).This is the wall of Fort Cornwallis from the outside.Taman Kota Lama is a park located just outside the Fort Cornwallis. It has a playground for the kids to play around.Once enter the fort, you will see this statue of Francis Light. This statue is made base on Francis Light’son Appearance.On the left of the entrance, there is a shop selling souvenir, drinks and ice-cream.

If you are going to the esplanade in Penang, you can consider visiting Fort Cornwallis as it is located just next to the esplanade. The entrance fees for the adult is 2 Ringgit Malaysia and 1 Ringgit Malaysia for the kids.
